Terms of Service — HalalLog

HalalLog (“the app”, “the service”, “we”, “us”) is operated by 87Lab. These Terms govern your use of the HalalLog app and website. By using HalalLog, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy.
1. What HalalLog Is
HalalLog is a travel planner for Muslim travelers: a day-by-day trip planner, halal restaurant search, prayer times and qibla tools, an AI ingredient scanner, and links to travel partners for tours, stays, and flights. The service is free to use. It is funded by advertising and by referral commissions from travel partners (see section 4).
2. The Scanner Is AI Guidance — Not Halal Certification
The Halal Scanner uses AI to read a food label and give guidance. It is not a halal certification, and we are not a certification body. AI can misread a label, miss an ingredient, or be wrong about a verdict. Labels themselves can be incomplete. A “no non-halal ingredients found” result means exactly that — nothing more.
For anything you rely on, verify with a recognized halal certification body or the manufacturer. You are responsible for what you choose to eat. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any scanner verdict or for decisions made based on one.
3. Place and Travel Data
Restaurant listings, prayer spaces, mosque locations, prayer times, and similar data are provided on a best-effort basis from third-party sources and curated lists. They may be wrong, incomplete, or out of date — places close, menus change, and halal status can change without notice. Check before you rely on an entry, and treat prayer times as calculated estimates.
4. Affiliate Links and Bookings
The Explore section contains links to travel partners, including Viator, Agoda, and Travelpayouts brands (such as Aviasales). If you make a booking or purchase after following one of these links, we may earn a referral commission, at no additional cost to you.
Your booking is with the partner, not with us. The partner is the merchant of record and handles payment, confirmations, changes, cancellations, refunds, and customer service under its own terms. HalalLog surfaces these offers as an intermediary; we do not operate, sell, or deliver the travel products themselves, and we are not responsible for their availability, quality, safety, or pricing. See our Privacy Policy (section 5) for the matching disclosure.
5. Advertising
HalalLog shows rewarded ads through Google AdMob. Watching a rewarded ad is always optional and unlocks extra daily usage (for example, additional scans). Ad content comes from Google and its advertisers, not from us.
6. Accounts and Deletion
You can use much of HalalLog without an account. Creating an account (email or Google sign-in) lets you sync trips across devices and raises daily scanner limits. You are responsible for keeping your sign-in credentials safe.
You can delete your account at any time from the app's settings. Deleting your account removes your account details and synced data (such as trips and saved places) from our servers, as described in the Privacy Policy. Data kept only on your device is removed when you uninstall the app.
7. Acceptable Use
- Don't break, overload, probe, or circumvent the service or its usage limits.
- Don't use the service to send spam or content you don't have the right to send.
- Don't scrape or resell the service or its data.
- Don't use the service where doing so would be unlawful.
We may suspend accounts that violate these rules.
8. Disclaimer and Limitation of Liability
HalalLog is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, 87Lab is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for loss arising from reliance on scanner verdicts, place data, prayer times, or partner bookings. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.
9. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea. Disputes are subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of the Republic of Korea.
10. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms as the service evolves. Material changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continuing to use HalalLog after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
